Cleaning is as simple pouring on hot water, wiping, then drying. Bk has a rich history of innovation. In 1851, coppersmith Hendrik Berk of kampen, Holland, was commissioned by local inhabitants and businesses to make milk churns, pots, pans and other cooking utensils. Forty years later, he added a protective layer of enamel to his steel pans and tins and introduced the world to the first enameled steel Dutch oven. This laid the foundation for bk, which continues to bring high quality and innovative engineering to their approach to cookware. Bk’s crowning achievement came in 1951 when Queen Juliana awarded them the royal predicate—a title awarded only to organizations that hold a prominent position in their field.

Lodge CRS8 Carbon Steel Skillet, Pre-Seasoned, 8-inch

Last update was on: Thursday, August 13, 2020

Size:8″ |  Color:Black

The American-based company lodge has been fine-tuning its construction of rugged, cast-iron cookware for more than a century. Now lodge has added a new line of seasoned steel skillets. This handy 8-inch seasoned steel skillet is the only pre-seasoned and ready to use out of the box steel pan in the market place right now. Each skillet is pre-seasoned with natural soy bean oil. Maintains very low and very high temperatures, making the pan a highly effective and versatile cooking piece. It performs well in residential and professional kitchens as well as outdoors. Made of 12 gauge carbon steel. Steel is a high density metal that does not retain odors. If maintained correctly, it will last a lifetime. Thickness of the cooking surface allows the pan to heat up quickly but also retain the heat needed for even cooking. The handle angle is conducive for both stove top and oven cooking. Each handle is attached to the skillet with 3 secure rivets. The black patina given to the cookware by the factory seasoning process is, in fact, vegetable oil that has been baked into a piece of cookware that has emerged from an individual sand mold. This coating of oil is a functional application and not a cosmetic application. The cookware is hanging as it rides through the electrostatic sprayer and commercial conveyer ovens at very high temperatures. This allows the oil to penetrate deeply into the pores of the carbon steel which creates an easy release finish. As a result of this process, you may see a blister or bubble of oil at the southern-most point or at the end of the handle of the cookware piece. If visible, it will rub or flake off with your finger, leaving a brown spot. Don’t worry, it’s not rust but a seasoned spot that is brown, indicative of the varnish stage of seasoning. The brown spot will turn black with use. Made in the USA.

AUS-ION Skillet, 7" (18cm), Smooth Finish, 100% Made in Sydney, 3mm Australian Iron, Professional Grade Cookware

Last update was on: Thursday, August 13, 2020

Style Name:7″ Skillet

The 7″ (18cm) Skillet With Smooth Finish by AUS-ION is 100% made in Sydney from one seamless piece of 3mm thick Australian sheet iron. A traditional fry pan for smaller jobs, with 2″ high sides. AUS-ION cookware is built to last with all of the features and details professional chefs look for in a pan: high quality, comfortable to use and easy to clean. The seamless, one-piece construction means there are no rivets, so there is nothing for food or steel wool particles to get caught in. The handles are ergonomically designed with a wide, concave shape which is more comfortable to use with better control and less hand fatigue. And the generous venting in the handle neck reduces heat transfer for a cooler handle. The pans cook like cast iron but are lighter weight, they heat evenly and will not warp. The entire pan is naturally pre-seasoned for a healthy nonstick option; It is not coated like many steel pan brands, so it arrives ready to cook, no stripping necessary. AUS-ION pans are suitable for use at high heat over any heat source. For best results, follow our instructions. To clean: after cooking, use a wooden utensil or steel wool to gently scrape pan under hot running water. It is best to clean while the pan is still very warm. If necessary, you may use a brush, but be careful not to take off too much of that beautiful seasoning that you have built up! Do not use soap, as it will erode the seasoning. Dry thoroughly with a paper towel while the pan is still warm. If the pan is still relatively new, return to the stove top and wipe the interior of the pan with a small amount of oil, heat until smoking. Then, using tongs, wipe off the excess oil.
