See my review of the same unit with 4 gig of ram rather than the 6 offered with this system. After buying one of these for my wife, I liked it enough to buy one for myself, replacing my tired and getting tireder Acer desktop, I bought this one because of the extra 2 gigs of ram. They make a difference in processing speed. While my wife’s light use lets her get along with 4 gigs, I needed the 6. The system works okay on Windows 8.1, but would be a 5 star system had it been available with Windows 7 Home Premium. Windows 8.1 is too clunky and hesitant for my tastes and seems to have been made with tablets in mind, although with their reduced ram and processing power I think the OS would be too frustratingly glacial to take seriously. As with most boxes I buy, I spent my first session uninstalling the bloatware that comes packed with the computer, ripping out and replacing the security suite in favor of Eset, and adding in a few of the business suites like Apache Open Office replacing the try and buy MS Office. All of the features and more, full Office compatibility and absolutely free with no ads. I also yanked out the Microsoft environments –cloud, Bing, maps, etc in favor of the Google milieu. All of my stuff is already ensconced there, and so simply loading Chrome and logging in went a long way to setting me up so that I was able to start being productive right away. I unpinned and replaced many of the tiles, switching them to make more sense for what I sue and want, although I;m pretty much a desktop denizen with marginal appreciation for the Start environment. It takes a little getting used to the steps required to make personalization and update changes, but I found myself getting along with things fairly well quickly.
The computer offers a couple of USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 taps that made it easy to hand a terabyte external USB drive, and set the system u so that my photos and other content I want saved from computer catastrophe are easy to recover –or swap temporarily ot other computers to quickly make disk to disk content copies. I also use a WD MyCloud network personal cloud that I use for system image backups of all our computing devices, desktops, laptops, tablets and phones.
The computer appears to be well built, stylish, and is pretty darn portable, especially if you drop on bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Although it is a bit too bulky to carry under my arm. But moving it room to room and with its reduced footprint, makes it a good desktop for the mainstream users out there.

First, the computer arrived with a non matching keyboard and a non matching mouse that were wired even though the computer advertised is one that has a wireless keyboard and mouse. It was my mistake to assume that the company would disclose that they would throw together any old keyboard and any mouse, wireless or not, and that it wouldn’t match.
Second, and most importantly, the computer showed signs of being defective from the get go. The first sign was that the Windows installed was an unauthorized version because it wouldn’t let me upgrade to Windows 10 (all Windows users can upgrade to Windows 10 for free within the designated time period which I was well within). At that point I should’ve immediately complained to Ocean Reef Electronics but you know, I have something called a life and that life got very busy and I didn’t make the complaint.
The computer got worse. It began to freeze on startup and would tell me that Windows is not authentic and to contact my administrator. The ultimate problem is that now the computer screen goes completely black on startup and says that it is missing a boot disk. After trying to start the computer a good 5 or 6 times (and 3 hours later), I am lucky if the computer actually makes it to the Windows screen. But when it does, I have to work quickly because after a short time it freezes and tells me it needs to restart and the whole cycle
begins again: black screen, no boot disk, etc.
I bought a refurbished computer from this company because it had good reviews. But they must somehow be deleting bad reviews. I reached out to the company more than once and was not even favored with a phone call or a personal email. I just got a standard email that said I was outside of the 30 day return window (the computer is 2 months old).They literally will not even speak to me. BUYER BEWARE! This company sells defective products, installs unauthorized software, and then refuses to even speak to the customer. Do yourself a favor and choose a reputable company. Ocean Reef Electronics is NOT A REPUTABLE COMPANY!

It was something I wish I had order long ago. Looking forward to many years of use and updates . I love…love…love..my computer and helped my dad by one similar. How can you go wrong with HP? Just so you know, this computer does come with Windows 8 but no Microsoft Office programs. This seems to be the new standard and has nothing to do with the computer itself, but rather Windows and Microsoft policies.

This PC was not used it was used up. It was supposed to have windows 8 but came with 10; soon after it recovered with 7. Soon after the hard disk went belly up and had to be replaced. It was very slow and on reliable.

This is a good machine for the price. I enjoy using it, but I do not like Windows 8. Perhaps it is because it is so different from XP which I loved. But the machine is well worth the price. The keyboard and mouse are a bit substandard, but again you get what you pay for. I would definitely purchase this machine again. I would also recommend it to anyone who is looking for a desktop all in one, it is a great space saving feature. The screen clarity is awesome. All in all I like this computer.

Bought this refurbished and when i run the anti spyware, it went through over 90000 files and i canceled scan, so i could get on the internet. Hopefully it will last a while. It runs slow sometimes, but that could be my internet.
